Sewing and Snuggling
During the Snow Day I had a touch of spring in my sewing room!
I loved the contrast of the blooming flowers and the snow covered trees outside the window. The bluebird is fake, but he looks real enough for Lulu to stalk!

Meet Chug
Here is the second surprise of the day! The first is SNOW- more about that later. Could you resist this face? I couldn't. Chug was the featured pet yesterday on WTVM from the Lee County Humane Society. He is half pug, half chihuahua- so the name Chug. I briefly thought "I need to rescue him" briefly..... then I took the Pugs out for a walk and noticed the piles of pug fur all over the kitchen floor and I came to my senses. Then this morning as the snow started coming down I asked my Hubby to just check to make sure Chug got adopted. He works with the father of the director of the Humane Society. You know, just to set my mind at ease and all.
Hubby came home for lunch with Chug. He needed a home now....he was at the end of his time and the shelter is full.....he found that home!
I always said my next pug would be a rescue... I guess this counts...he tilts his head when you talk to him and then there's the tail....
He is asleep in my arms as I type.Thursday, January 7, 2010
Brrrrrrrr! It's Cold Here!
I got some paper mache snowmen out today in anticipation of snow! We have a 70% chance of snow tonight! It has been really cold for Alabama this week, but the skies have been blue. Today the clouds moved in! My house looked so empty after I took down the Christmas decorations. After reading how Kristie left out her "Snowy" decorations up, I decided to pack my snowmen in a different box so I could use them in January.
I didn't even have these guys out this Christmas- so I enjoyed seeing their silly faces! I made them several years ago. I made the heads from styrofoam balls and paper mache. The hats are made from silver mesh fabric dipped in wallpaper glue and draped over plastic lids (from spray paint). Then I added more silver ribbon to stiffen them up. They have collars made of white fringe and I collected thrift store silver candle sticks to perch them on.
More thrift store balls are in the cloche. This will cheer me up until I can put out some Valentine goodies!Monday, March 2, 2009
Pugs in the Snow
This is the most snow the pugs have ever seen! Bitsey is not a fan, she shakes her princess feet after each step. Eli ran around and was hard to get a picture of! The snow is now melting and we didn't even get a snow day off of school!
Taking care of business on that little bit of grass!

They have winter jackets, but since they were not going to stay out long we didn't bother with them!
Last chance to enter my Blogiversary Giveaway! Eli will pick the winner tomorrow!
