Last Disney Post...

...for at least a year! Our plan is that the next trip will be a romantic vacation for two! We have done the "Disneything" with children for 6 trips. Now, it is time for us to have some alone time...before we have Grandkids to bring down here! The last day we went to DisneyQuest, a 5 floor interactive video game indoor park! We have never done this- it was great for the boy! Here is the Animation Academy where I took an art lesson- How to draw Pluto! I have done this at Hollywood Studios before and I liked doing it with paper and pencil better. Here it was done on computer. It was still fun! While I was busy here the boys were building and riding a virtual roller coaster!
DH found a Star Wars game that he liked. Later we found rooms of vintage games like PacMan and Centipede.

The boy made some friends playing some games that had a lot of shooting of giant spiders. I convinced him to try this Star Wars game because I didn't want to put on the helmet! We also did some whole family games like "Pirates of the Caribbean"!
After we had all the "fun" we could stand of that we headed back to EPCOT for our last evening.

We wanted to have an evening with the Bee Gees. The boy was unfamiliar with their music- I guess we have neglected his education! We really liked the concert! Not only did they sound like the real thing- they looked the part as well!

The back up singers-

The twins and Barry in the center- The crowd had much gray hair and the older they were the more they knew the words and sang along!

One last glass of wine in Italy before saying good-bye to the "Happiest Place on Earth"!!!

Day 6 at EPCOT

We spent an educational day at EPCOT. Our only goal was to take it easy! Since we wanted to ride Soarin' we started by getting a Fast Pass- this allowed us to return in the evening to ride it without having to wait in a 75 minute + line! I wish my tomatoes looked like this!

We spent a lot of the day inside at The Land and The Seas. We headed out to the countries to eat and stroll. In France we watched a mime/acrobat show. And had cream puffs and apple tarts.

Dad enjoyed the show in Morocco!

We ate again in the USA- hot dogs and apple pie! The meal plan was more food than we could eat! We got the smallest plan and still had 8 meals and 12 snacks left when it was time to come home!

Seeing the sights in China!

We "saved the world" by completing a Kim Possible mission. We got clues on a cell phone to follow. Our mission took us to Great Britain. We had to find windows that sprang to life with clues, gave secret codes to store workers, and got a golf ball out of a phone booth! I know this was for kids...but the grown-ups on this team loved it more than the kid!

Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom -Day 5

The boy wanted to sleep in so we went alone to the Animal Kingdom which had extra magic early hours. This was a great time to see the animals and the lines were short! The Safari was the best one we have ever done- the animals were active and close! We saw so many!

It is easy to believe you are really in Africa and Asia with these views!

We love the "Finding Nemo" stage show!

After lunch we all went to the Magic Kingdom for the evening. We rode a view things and watched the parade. He tried hard to get the sword out of the stone!!
Then we went to the castle to see Tinkerbell start the fireworks!

Disney Trip - Days 3-4

We had our first trip to a Disney water park on day 3, Blizzard Beach. I did not take many pictures because I put the camera in a locker. Things were too wet and hot to keep up with it.

This is the big wave pool, it was so crowded that we did not spend much time in it.
I spent most of my time floating on a tube on this creek, it runs all the way around the park. The boys were more daring!

Near the end of the day we found this slide at the back of the park. The line was much shorter because it had a lot of stairs!

We spent the late afternoon and evening back at the Animal Kingdom Lodge viewing animals.

Day 4 started at Hollywood Studios. It was Star Wars weekend.....which means tons of people and long lines and everyone dressed in Star Wars attire! We watched a High School Musical show and rode the Great Movie Ride.
My boys posing on a Star Wars set. After the boy rode Tour of Terror twice we headed back to the pool!

We celebrated our Anniversary with dinner at Boma, the African restaurant in the AKL. It is a buffet, so I am adventurous and try all kinds of food there!

The food is wonderful and we always eat too much! There is great variety and I never really know what I have eaten. The food is not spicey-hot but, they do use cinnamon. There are many vegetable dishes and even some "American" food -mac and cheese!

This is my dessert plate...it's all good! My favorite are the striped things-Zebra Domes- they are amaretto cheesecake/mousse ! DH loved the upside down pineapple cheesecake! After we were done, our server brought out these plates!

And yes...I squeezed this in too! This is really a great place to eat, they also have a breakfast buffet but, we have never tried it. After dinner there are many romantic places in the lodge to get away from the Disney crowds. There is an outside fire pit and another one in the main lobby. One night we sat by the inside firepit and talked to another couple for a couple hours! The pool is open 24 hours and there is an arcade so the boy was happy!

Back From Africa

We are home and we had a wonderful trip! This was our third trip to the Animal Kingdom Lodge so we are very comfortable there. We did try the meal plan this time and went to Blizzard Beach and Disneyquest for the first time!
Our room had good views of the savanna.

DH had a surprise delivered shortly after we checked in and ate lunch. We celebrated my birthday and our anniversary on the 2nd day. We got married on my birthday so he would never forget the day!

EPCOT is our favorite park so we began and ended the trip there.

For Norman's Woman- Moosehead beer in Canada!

Mom being silly and the boy in the background being embarrassed! (As he was for most of the trip!)

We ate dinner in Great Britain while listening to the Beatles!
We spent my birthday/anniversary at Magic Kingdom!

The room was decorated when we went back for an afternoon swim!

Dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern was the best meal we have ever had at Disney-The table was decorated with confetti and a rose and bracelet. The boy gave me a Tinkerbell mug. Tinkerbell became a theme for the trip. The server brought me a light up Tinkerbell. The meal was served family style with bowls of rolls, salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, mac and cheese, stuffing, gravy and 4 meats! Then they sang to me and brought a cupcake....after that we had dessert...apple cobbler!
It was a magic birthday!!!!
